We are currently recruiting for a Family Support Worker on behalf of our client to join their 9-bed Family Assessment Unit based in Sawbridgeworth. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in supporting vulnerable families as they undergo assessment in a safe, structured environment.

As a Family Support Worker, you will provide hands-on support and guidance to parents and their children, ensuring a safe and nurturing environment while contributing to the overall assessment process. This includes observing and recording parenting practices, offering practical advice, and supporting families in developing essential parenting skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support families in daily routines including mealtimes, hygiene, and child care
- Observe and report on parenting capacity and child welfare
- Contribute to multi-disciplinary assessment reports
- Assist in maintaining a structured and safe environment within the unit
- Promote positive parenting and provide guidance where needed
- Respond appropriately to safeguarding concerns in line with policies and procedures
Requirements:
- Experience working with families and/or children in a supportive role
- Strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection practices
- Excellent communication and observation skills
- Ability to maintain professional boundaries and detailed written records
- Flexibility to work across a rota covering weekdays and weekends
- Level 3 qualification in Health & Social Care, Children & Young People, or a related field is desirable
